Students reach their potential at KO because of all the work that teachers put in getting to know who they are, whether it’s in a history class or at baseball practice, or after school. Teachers find out how that student works. What makes them tick? What do they enjoy? What area do they need to grow in? And then it’s very much a team effort. It’s the history teacher. The baseball coach. It’s the person on after-school duty who noticed those things about a student. We bring that all together. All of these people are on that child’s team and help figure out what’s best for them. That information is shared with all the rest of their teachers and the teachers that the student will have the following year.
The bottom line is about caring for the students that we teach and wanting to know who they are. We see how we can challenge them and work together to make that happen.
