Angelina Maselli ’20
Angelina Maselli averaged 11.7 points, four rebounds, 2.3 assists and two steals per game during the KIT tournament. She was also named to the “All-Tournament Team” for the KITs, highlighting the best performers in the tournament.
Head Coach Quinn O’Brien said, “Picking up where she left off last year as a junior, Angie is a returning captain and senior who has been instrumental in the process of turning the program around. While it is a long journey and process that does not happen overnight, the results are real and evident, especially this week in the KITs. We went from 0-3 and eighth place last year to 2-1 and second place this year. Angie was a leader for us all weekend both on and off the court.”
Timeout with Angelina:
The thing you are most excited for this season: I couldn’t just say one thing, I always get excited for the KITs. That is the best time of the year. I have a genuine love for the game. I love the team. We have a great group of girls, and I am so excited to finish my senior season out with the team!
Favorite thing about winter: KITs
Favorite pre-game pump-up song: I tend to listen to a playlist consisting of artists like Lil Tjay, Trippie Redd and Travis Scott
Favorite meal: My mother’s homemade pasta and sauce
Favorite spot on campus: Mr. McDonald’s advisee room
Maselli said, “I am so excited for this season. We started off with a very big win against Taft, beating them for the first time in many years. We have great chemistry, and I think it’s the best it’s been in all my five years on the team. We made it to the championship in the KITs but fell a little short and couldn’t clinch the win. I am very optimistic about this season and think we will definitely be surprising people. I have a genuine love for the game and devote a lot of my time to it and super excited to play this season!
