Varsity Volleyball

The KO Girls’ Varsity Volleyball had their Dig Pink Match at home on Saturday and beat Suffield in 4 sets, 25-17, 25-17, 22-25, 25-20.

KO started off strong with strong attacks and numerous kills from co-captain Sydney Smith ‘ 21. The team’s passing was strong, most notably from libero Mackenize Caruso, ‘ 22.  In the second set, Smith continued to score points, this time off her serve, bringing the score from 3-4 to 11-4. Strong serving from Suffield challenged KO in the third set, and the team struggled more on serve receive, making it harder to put together the strong offense that they had exhibited in the first two sets. So the pressure was on in the fourth set. Suffield’s serve remained strong, and the score was tight, with Suffield in the lead, until Smith once again got to the service line and took KO from 18-19 to 23-19. Audrey Decker ‘20 had several key blocks, in each set, that effectively shut down a strong Suffield attack. KO is now 4-1 and will travel to Marianapolis on Wednesday.
