Volleyball – Girls Varsity vs Suffield Academy – Away
Varsity Volleyball
KOVB travelled to Suffield this past Saturday for a challenging match against Suffield Academy.
Game 1 of the match began with teams trading points back and forth as each team settled in. Mid-game, Suffield’s serving came on strong and KO found it challenging to run an effective offense which allowed Suffield to finish the game with a sizable lead. Games 2 and 3 were much more closely contested. KO took the lead in game 2 and held on until Suffield tied the game 20-20. A couple of KO defensive lapses allowed Suffield to squeak out the win by 2 points. Game 3 saw KO down by 6 points early in the game, but KO showed our competitive spirit as we battled our way back into the match. Down 18-24 with the match point on the line, KO mounted an incredible comeback at the hands of Madi Henry on the service line to tie the match up 24-24. Although Suffield took the final two points to win the match, this match showed the grit and determination our KO team is capable of and revealed important areas for improvement as we move forward. We are excited to test ourselves again this coming Wednesday as we play Marianapolis at home at 3:30. (13-25, 23-35, 24-26)
