Volleyball – Girls Varsity vs St. Luke’s School – Home
V Volleyball
The KO Varsity Volleyball team had a solid performance for our first home game of the season, winning 3-1 against St. Luke’s (23-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-17). In the first set, both teams took some time to settle into their service rhythm. After St. Luke’s took an early lead, co-captain Francesca Lamattina ‘25 got the Wyvern offense going with some spectacular sets to Chloe Delaire ‘27 on the outside, which Delaire put away with several deep kills. On defense, co-captain Alex Segal ‘25 had effective passing and out-of-system setting in the libero position, which kept KO in some key points. In the second set, the Wyverns responded by varying our attacks, allowing co-captain Lola Peck ‘26 to fire some strong swings and deft tips in the middle for kills. Delphine Lamattina ‘27 and Lila Klinzmann ‘27 started the team off on the right foot with well-struck serves that helped KO keep the lead as we moved through the set. In the third set, Peck started us off with a kill on the right side and a service run, which was followed by some great aggressive play at the net by Genesis Frimpong ‘27 in the middle. As the points got longer, the Wyverns stayed consistent on offense and kept the lead to take the set. In the fourth and final set, Katie Reale ‘26 had a spectacular early kill and a few tips in the middle and continued to put consistent pressure on the opponent through blocking and coverage. Olivia Raccio ‘28 was a stalwart defender in the back row, setting up the offense with great passes and serve receive. Attacks from all angles from Delaire, Peck, Klinzmann, and Frimpong, along with a great block from Peck and Frimpong late in the game, ensured that the Wyverns would take the fourth set and the game.
