JV Girls Tennis

JV Girls Tennis earned our first win on Wednesday, defeating Wilbraham and Monson 5-1. The team played a bit sluggishly (first Wednesday match of the season), but overcame this to get that W. A few players deserve special mention. Alisa Ruban showed great hustle in a match that saw some long rallies and great placement by both players. Lidia Martinez-Castro and Sanya Sadiq both showed off their defensive skills, with Lidia’s blocking a series of shots at the net, while Sanya split the defenders on multiple occasions. Diya Mistri, who graciously filled in when a teammate could not make it, and Alyssa Tousignant also played well with their doubles partners, despite this being the first match these pairs played together. On the whole, we made progress, but also showed where we can improve even more. Our next match is at Cheshire Academy at 11:30 on Saturday!
