Tennis – Boys Varsity vs Hopkins School – Home
Varsity Boys Tennis
On a rainy Saturday we were able to play indoors at KO against a talented Hopkins team. Both teams were missing a couple of players, and those filling in did well. After losing a closely contested doubles point with 7-4 and 7-5 losses at 2 and 3 doubles (KO was up 5-4 at 1 doubles when play was stopped because the doubles point had been decided) . In singles, Ciaran Concepcion at #1 played quite well in a 7-5, 6-4 defeat to a highly ranked opponent. At # 4, freshman Neil Reddy played his best match of the year agains a senior, losing a heartbreaker 2-6, 7-5, 10-5. Hopkins won on straight sets at 5 and 6 singles, so one the remaining two matches was only a set, won 6-4 at 3 singles. We pulled the 2 singles match after a few games because there was a girls varsity match backing up to ours. The boys played with heart and gave it their best shot against a slightly deeper team. Next up is an away match at Kent on Wednesday.
