V Boys Tennis
On Tuesday afternoon, we opened our regular season with a match vs. Hamden Hall. It was originally scheduled to be played at Hamden Hall, but due to the rain they were willing to make the drive to play at our indoor courts. We played the 4 singles, 3 doubles no repeat format, which means 10 players participate in matches that count towards the team total. Hamden Hall had a bit more depth to counter KO’s strength of the top three singles players, so that match as a whole was extremely close. Ciaran Concepcion (’26) , Pratt Blair, (’26) and Will Maclean (’25) won in straight sets at #1, #2, and #3 respectively. #4 singles was a marathon match that lasted over two hours, as KO’s Jacob Barash (’25) outlasted his opponent 7-6, 2-6, 10-6 (supertiebreaker for the 3rd set). Hamden Hall won at #2 and #3 doubles in straight sets against a KO’s determined teams of Logan Barash (’28)/Noah Sadowsky (’28) and Ian Russell(’24)/Roman Moray (’24). At #1 doubles, KO’s Amogh Peddapothla (’24) and Saahit Gadippati (’26) pulled out a come from behind win 4-6, 7-5, 10-6. Even though the team score was 5-2, it could easily have been 3-4, as both teams played their hardest and with good sportsmanship.
