Varsity Girls Squash
The KO Girls Varsity Squash team had a big 4-3 win away at Berkshire, the biggest win of the season so far! In the no. 8 match, Racheal Segal ‘28 put together some spectacular, long points, with a good balance of power and precision in her swing, against a talented opponent. Aliza Rashid ‘27 fought back from being down 2-0 to take her opponent to four games in the no. 7 match, winning an extra-point third game that showcased her racquet preparation and excellent use of straight drives to the back of the court. In the no. 6 spot, co-captain Alyssa Tousignant ‘25 was clutch in the big moments of the match, sending unreturnable serves into the corners and lifting the ball over her opponent to win multiple extra-point games and win 3-1. Playing against an opponent with strong drives, Clara Toomey ‘27 was ready to absorb pace with her impressive defensive court coverage and counterpunch with deep drives of her own for a big 3-0 win. Lia Prahl ‘26 was consistent with her low, hard-hit forehand drives and precise backhands, battling it out against an experienced opponent. In the no. 3 spot, co-captain Ella Chen ‘25 had more and more accurate volley returns of serve, and used her drives to alternate sides of the court to pressure her opponent. In the no. 2 match, Valerie Perkins ‘29 was patient with her strategy, using immaculate straight drives to take away her opponent’s options, and she held on in an extra-point first game, going on to win the match 3-0. Ava Marseglia ‘26 used back-to-front variety in her shots to force her opponent to cover more and more of the court, winner her match 3-0. It was a real team effort, and the Wyverns showed their consistency and patience on court to pull off a huge win!
