Squash – Girls Varsity vs Westminster School – Away

V Girls Squash

The KO Varsity Girls Squash team had a strong outing against an experienced opponent at Westminster, losing 6-1 after some great individual matches. In the no. 2 spot, Valerie Perkins ‘29 had a solid comeback win after skillfully adjusting her strategy and taking control of the middle of the court. In the no. 6 position, Sanya Sadiq ‘26 showed skillful readiness to attack with volley returns, and in the no. 7 position Alyssa Tousignant ‘25 had intense, strategic points that allowed her to put her powerful backhand drives to the test. Captain Ilianna Brett ‘24 was firing drives into the back corners, and serving aggressively for momentous, successfully executed points in the no. 3 spot. The show-stopper match at the end of the day was the no. 1 showdown, in which Ava Marseglia ‘26 fought back from being down 2-0. Marseglia’s great defensive court coverage and timely holds during her attacks made it an incredibly close contest. It was a good team performance against one of our strongest opponents overall.
