Squash – Girls Varsity vs Suffield Academy – Home

The KO Varsity Girls squash team had a close match against Suffield for our first match of the season, narrowly losing out 4-3. In the no. 3 spot, captain Ilianna Brett ‘24 took control of the court by starting off with precise shots to the back, only to capitalize with hard, low shots in the front, and won her match 3-0. Valerie Perkins ‘29 had spectacular defensive court coverage and kept her opponent on the run to secure a clean 3-0 sweep in the no. 2 spot. In the no. 1 spot, Ava Marseglia ‘26 used the front of the court masterfully to pull off killer drops that kept her solidly in the lead (3-0). In the no. 4-8 spots, Suffield leaned into their solid squash technique and won those individual matches to win the overall team match. Despite that outcome, Ella Chen ‘25 and Alyssa Tousignant ‘25 put effective pressure on their opponents and produced some wonderful contested points throughout their matches. We look forward to playing at Loomis Chaffee this Saturday as our last match of 2023!
