The KO Girls Varsity Squash team played a strong opponent in Miss Porter’s School, losing the match 5-2. In the no. 1 match, Ava Marseglia ‘26 kept steady with her shots in long points that showcased her patience in attacking to the front of the court at the right moment. Valerie Perkins ‘29 led with powerful, precise straight drives in the no. 2 match and was ready to adapt when her opponent switched things up from point to point. In the no. 3 and 4 matches, Lia Prahl ‘26 and co-captain Ella Chen ‘25 were pressuring their opponents well with lots of pace on their straight drives and cross courts, along with relentless court coverage. Clara Toomey ‘27 utilized her soaring lefty forehands and punishing backhand volleys in the no. 5 spot, fighting back from a deficit to take her opponent to four games. In the no. 6 spot, Sanya Sadiq ‘26 showed her volleying skills and her court sense throughout her four-game battle. Aliza Rashid ‘27 was setting up better and better constructed points in the no. 7 spot, which allowed her to take the time to crush the ball on her volleys. In the no. 8 spot, Racheal Segal ‘28 had a strong start and used her serve to keep momentum to take her opponent to four games. There were lots of close contests up and down the ladder!
