Girls Varsity Squash
The KO Girls Varsity Squash team had a strong season opener at home against Ethel Walker, winning the match 5-2. Valerie Perkins ’29 took charge in the #1 match with well placed serves and good variation in her crushed drives and finessed volleys (3-0). In the #4 match, Lia Prahl ’26 came back from a 1-0 game deficit to win 3-1, showcasing a strong combination of court sense and deep shots to the back that made it around her opponent. Co-captain Alyssa Tousignant ’25 had a clinical display of well struck drives and clever drop shots to take the #5 match 3-0. In their varsity squash debut matches, Racheal Segal ’28 and Clara Toomey ’27 won the #6 and #7 matches, respectively, with relentless serving and excellent court coverage that allowed them to put the ball away quickly (3-0 for both matches). In the #2 match, co-captain Ella Chen ’25 fought hard against a skilled opponent, making great strides forward with her returns of serve (0-3), and in the #3 match, Sanya Sadiq ’26 had successful shot selection that awarded her a game in a close matchup (1-3). It was a great first match for the Wyverns! We look forward to our away match with Suffield on 12/11.
