Ava Patel ’28 put both her forehand and backhand to good use to challenge her opponent for possession of the middle of the court in the no. 3 spot. Eva Penta ’28 had excellent volleys in the no. 4 spot, extending the points as she rarely let the ball get past her. Arcadia Yu ’27 did better and better in the no. 5 spot as she adjusted to her opponent’s style and fired back with soaring forehands. In the no. 6 spot, Riya Sekaran ’28 worked on strengthening her returns of serve and played increasingly complicated points against a talented opponent. In the no. 7 spot, Ella Wang ’27 was serving better and better as the match went on, and found the power in her swing to send her opponent chasing the ball.
