Squash – Girls JV vs Pomfret School – Away

JV Girls Squash

The KO Girls JV Squash team had a 7-0 loss to Pomfret, with the team producing longer and longer rallies and playing some of their best squash yet. With JV slightly down on numbers, we had some help from varsity player Racheal Segal ‘28 in the no. 1 spot, and her incredibly close 5-game match really showcased the power of her drives to the back of the court and the momentum she generates with her runs of unreturnable serves. Addisen Nicholson ‘25 showed how she is an adaptive problem solver in the no. 2 spot, adjusting to the pace of her opponent’s game and constructing more and more complicated rallies as she went through the match. Ava Patel ‘28 adjusted to her opponent’s serve nicely, making sure to utilize her stellar forehand swing to send the ball soaring over her opponent and into the back corners in the no. 3 match. Eva Penta ‘28 produced better and better squash in the no. 4 spot after coming back from being sick, using solid footwork to put together intimidating volleys and impressive gets when her opponent hit the ball short. Delilah Mathews ‘28, as skilled on the backhand as she is on the forehand, demonstrated the power of her crosscourts that widened the court to set up great points.
