JV Girls Squash

The KO Girls JV Squash team had a 7-0 loss against an experienced Miss Porter’s JV team, but is producing better and better squash as we move through the season. Delilah Mathews ‘28 and Arcadia Yu ‘27, in the no. 5 and 4 spots, found ways to read their opponents’ serves to return with more and more powerful drives to win the serve back for themselves. Ava Patel ‘28 used her lofty drives to the back of the court to win back the “T” and take control of points in the no. 3 spot. Addisen Nicholson ‘25 put more and more power into her backhand swing to ensure that she could apply pressure to the point from both sides of the court, which she did repeatedly against her opponent in the no. 2 spot. We got some help from one of our varsity players, Aliza Rashid ‘27, in the no. 1 spot. She did an excellent job of using her serve and her aggressive volleys to dominate points, and had a very close 3-2 loss that showed her perseverance in a tough battle. Most of our players also played extra exhibition matches to get more practice in, so it was a great experience for the team to further develop our skills.
