JV Girls Squash

The Girls JV Squash team had a promising opening match of the season at home against Millbrook, coming out with a strong effort despite playing experienced opponents. Though the final team score was 6-1, the Wyverns showed off their excellent progress with their serves and drives over the course of the match. In the no. 3 position, Noa Taback ’28 was ready to send the opponent into the back of the court with timely deep shots. In the no. 4 position, Ava Patel ’28 used solid forehand technique to pressure her opponent in each point. Eva Penta ’28 had excellent court coverage and volleys in the no. 5 position, taking her opponent into an extra-point nail-biter in the third game of the match. Riya Sekaran ’28 showed off the balanced skills of her forehand and backhand as she sent the ball into the corners. In the no. 7 position, Delilah Mathews ’28 set up to crush the ball again and again on her forehand side. The team was also lucky to have Racheal Segal ’28 and Aliza Rashid ’27 helping out from the varsity team, with Rashid winning her close match 3-2 after coming back from being down 2-0. There’s a lot to be proud of from this first match!
