Kingswood Oxford entered their tilt with Worcester Academy with six consecutive wins but they’ll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Worcester Academy Hilltoppers 9-2. Considering Kingswood Oxford has won seven matchups by more than six runs this season.
Alexis Nisyrios ’27 made a splash hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Nisyrios ’27 has been nothing but reliable: she hasn’t tossed less than ten strikeouts in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Nisyrios ’27 was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aniajah Sanchez ‘ 28, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Aleis Gonzales ’27 was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Kingswood Oxford pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Worcester Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kingswood Oxford will take on Miss Porter’s at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
