Noelani Jackson-Sherman’s 17 strikeouts not enough as KO falls in a heart breaker.
A pitchers duel from the start as neither team could score a run for 5 innings. Finally in the top of the 5th back to back drop third strike batters reached base and eventually scored on most pass balls. Marianapolis managed to push two runs across without receding a hit.
In the bottom of the 5th KO got a leadoff runner on, stole 2nd, bunted the runner to 3rd and scored themselves on a past ball. KO has a chance to walk off in the 7th but stranded those runners on base. The game featured 2 hits total by both teams. A tough loss for the Wyverns.
