Varsity Girls Soccer

For the second game in a row, the KO girls took on a Class A powerhouse. Today’s opponent was the 2023 Class A NEPSAC champions Westminster which took place on their home field. As with the previous game against Choate, KO gave Westminster a fight from the opening whistle until the end of the game. Westminster was able to seize the lead 25 minutes into the game and maintained that 1-0 lead into halftime. Westminster was able to add to the lead 15 minutes into the second half but that goal seemed to wake up KO as they began to control play and get some opportunities going to goal. Caroline Sams was able to beat the defender and send a shot that just went wide. Liz Schaller and Nadia Silmon were also able to put shots on goal but were thwarted by the goalkeeper. Westminster added a third goal in the closing minutes to secure a 3-0 win. The entire roster was able to contribute during this game as KO seems to be playing their best soccer this season. The next game is home against Hopkins on Wednesday.
