Soccer – Girls JV vs Miss Porter’s School – Home
JV Girls Soccer
In their home opener, the girls JV soccer team played exceptionally well holding Miss Porter’s to 0-0 in the first half. The Wyverns had more scoring opportunities and solid shots on net – taken by Bella Deurloo, Ida Chapman, CJ Jordan, and Maya Gerrits – that were blocked by an aggressive and skilled keeper for MP. Sam Almedia saved the few shots on net that MP were able to release, having most of their attacks thwarted by our defensive line center backs Regan Heafey-De Angelis and Liv Gallop. Switching lineups in the second half to put more strength on the field, freshman Eve Penta debuted as goal keeper making many great saves! Sam Almeida used her speed and aggression in the midfield, assisting Margaret Miller, Eden Gonzales, and Olivia Policki who worked tirelessly controlling the midfield. Senior Abbie Schiff, and Freshman Ella Lewis, Noa Tabeck, and Isabella Tippner provided energy and speed to assist throughout.
Ida Chapman found the back of the net off a kick from out of the box in the second half. However, too many missed opportunities, and a low corner PK by Maya Gerrits that the keep expertly dove to stop, left the JV Wyverns at a loss and Miss Porter’s organized to capitalize their shots.
