Soccer – Girls JV vs Marianapolis Preparatory School – Away
JV Girls Soccer
Many of our new Wyverns played on the field for the majority of this game and helped bring another win for our team. The opponents scored first at about 15 minutes into the game, but then CJ Jordan made the first goal for our team off a bad pass from the opponents, bringing the score to 1-1. Two minutes later, Siri Tokala assisted CJ with another goal bringing us into the lead at 2-1. CJ and Maya Gerrits worked well together with some great cross kicks and attempts on the goal, but they were thwarted by the opponent’s goalkeeper. Kayla Dunkley and Ella Kemp made their first appearance on the field during a game and joined the lineup as strong defenders. Kayla did some great footwork to keep the opponent’s at bay and Ella Kemp made several strong kicks up the field to put our team back on the offensive. At the end of the first half, we maintained our 2-1 lead.
Throughout the second half, our defenders made some impressive moves, with Kayla sticking by opponents to thwart their attacks, Margaret Miller making some strong kicks up the field, and Ella Kemp managing to keep the opponent offense off guard by finding any space to get the ball through. Some more attempts were made by our Wyverns to score, including Maya Gerrits carrying the ball all the way to the goal from center field, Abigail Schiff making a powerful kick into the goal, and Ella Kemp, as a defender, making a cross kick to the forward who almost scored. However, all of these attempts were stopped by the opponent’s goalkeeper and the score remained 2-1 throughout the game. Congratulations to our Wyverns for their hard-earned win!
