Soccer – Boys Varsity vs Williston Northampton School – Away

Varsity Boys Soccer

KO Boys’ Varsity travelled north to Massachusetts on a mild November afternoon to face a very tough Williston Northampton team. With a starting line up filled with international players, KO were immediately up against it as the home team persistently went forward with precision and speed.

After a wave of multiple attacks, Williston Northampton would find two early goals to take control of the game. However, the response from KO was very positive, and the KO players on the field didn’t give up and kept fighting to get back in the game. With a number of crosses and corners in short spell, Pratt Blair served a dangerous ball from a free-kick into the opponents goal box that fell 35 yards out for Brandon Tavares who hit a tremendous shot on goal with so much power that the goalkeeper could only just keep out. Freshman Connor Morris reacted quickly and drilled the ball home from close range to put KO back in the game at 2-1.

As KO built confidence from scoring their goal, Williston Northampton’s #10 Ayden Kokoszka, scored a goal of the season contender from outside the box in quick response, the timing of this was unfortunate for KO.

KO kept working hard despite the tough situation they faced, but the quality on hand for the home team was difficult to contain, and they would soon find another goal just before half-time to make it 4-1.

KO came out strong in the second half, delivering a couple of crosses into the box, but Williston would stretch their lead and the contest got away from KO. On a positive note, all KO players in attendance got significant minutes on the field, and now the KO Boys look to finish a positive season on a high note as they look forward to their Senior day at home against Dexter on Saturday.
