Soccer – Boys Varsity vs Westminster School – Home
V Boys Soccer
On another beautiful Fall afternoon, KO took on Westminster at home in an evenly matched contest.
As has been the case so far this season, KO started strong and created three excellent goal-scoring chances inside the first 8 minutes, but unfortunately, they couldn’t find the clinical finishing touches and end product they needed. This would unfortunately come back to cost KO, as Westminster took the lead making it 1-0 at half-time.
Regardless of the setback, KO again came back strong starting the second half with excellent intensity, which saw them instantly respond with a goal through Jack Neikrie to tie the game up at 1-1.
As each team went back and forth searching for a winning goal, KO found themselves on the wrong side of the score line again; as Westminster made it 2-1 with about 18 minutes to play. But again KO didn’t stop pushing forward and for the majority of the remaining time, KO relentlessly put the ball in the opposing box. With everyone desperately pushing forward, KO Goalkeeper, and player of the game, Sawyer Burtman, kept KO in the contest with some excellent saves and decision-making. But as KO came close time and time again, it just wasn’t going to be KO’s day, and the score ended 2-1 for the visitors.
