V Boys Soccer

Against a solid team, the Boys gave their best performance of the season so far, but ironically couldn’t get the result the performance deserved.
After an excellent start, the Boys found themselves 1-0 down to an early goal by the visitors. However, this did not slow the Wyverns down and they continued to push and create numerous chances on goal.
Although they were unfortunate not to be level going into halftime, KO produced an exciting second half performance which saw them dominate the game and hammer the oppositions goal with shots and crosses into the box. After hitting the crossbar and coming so close on several occasions, Corey Nguyen smashed an amazing shot on goal, which the GK got his fingers to and hit pounded off the crossbar. With a few minutes remaining, KO threw everyone forward and unfortunately conceded a goal against the run of play on the counter attack to make it 2-0 with just over 5 minutes remaining. However, the Boys spirit and hard work didn’t end and after continuous pressure to get back in the game, KO was awarded a penalty when Connor Morris was fouled in the box and Jack Neikrie cooly slotted the PK home to make it 2-1. The Wyverns continued to pressure and give it everything, but unfortunately ran out of time. Even though it was extremely disappointing for the team, the performance was outstanding and the positivity going forward was remarkable!
