Lacrosse – Girls Varsity vs Cheshire Academy – Home
Loss 9-21
The varsity girls lacrosse team hosted Cheshire Academy in their first official home game of the season. After getting down early to the wildcats the wyverns scored with time running out in the first quarter to close the gap to a three goal deficit. As hard as our wyverns played the cats took a seven goal lead into halftime leading 11-4. After making some adjustments at the half the wyverns came out and scored the first four goals of the second half to cut the lead to three. The wildcats came back with their best players and took over the game running off ten goals to our one. The effort by all of our players, some who saw their most significant minutes in a varsity game, are to be applauded. Every player did her best, stayed positive and supportive of her teammates. We had our best goal output of the season and there were some spectacular saves made on the defensive end. We will take what we learned from this game and continue to improve upon our play every day.
