Varsity Ice Hockey
KO Hockey started their season this past Wednesday vs the King school at the ISCC in Simbsury. KO would jump out to a 1-0 lead late in the first period when Bryce Schaller ’29 would find the mesh with a shot from the Blue line. Ryna Munz ’26 and Alex Oliviera ’25 would tally the assists giving KO a 1-0 lead at the end of the 1st period.
The 2nd period would be a battle with the scporing picking up. King would tally 3 goals in ther period. But, KO did not fade, adding a Power Play goal at the 12:46 mark by Dalton Smith from the top of the slot. Oliviera ’25 and Colton Bischoff would get the assists. In the final 2:00 min of the period KO would get a 2nd Power Play opportunity. Despite a somewhat messy entry into the offensice zone, Bischoff would score his first goal of the season (assist from Krish Patel ’26) sending the game to 3-3 at the end of the 2nd period.
The third period would stay tied until the 6:00 min mark when King would score a short handed goal. Despite a conitued effort, King would go on to win in a 6-3 final. Shane Smith ’26 faced 42 shots, tallying 36 saves in the game for the Wyvern.
