Ice Hockey – Varsity vs Hamden Hall Country Day School – Away

KO Hockey traveled to Ralph Walker arena in New Haven this past Wednesday for an FAA contest with Hamden Hall. KO would get on the scoreboard first when Hayden Liddy ’27 (assist from Dan Petruzella ’26) would score for the Wyverns. The Hamden Hall dragons would counter moments later to bring the score even at 1. From there, it was all wyverns as they would go on to score 6 unanswered goals. Kai Scranton ’28 would then score two consecutive goals (1st – Assists – Krish Patel ’26 and Colton Bishoff ’26) the 1st on a quick cut through the Middle of the ice and the 2nd ( Assist Bryce Schaller ’29) in transition to beat the HH Goalie upper left. Colton Bishoff would score unassisted after a neutral zone turn over by Hamden Hall.

The KO Power play has been a strength of the team all season and Wednesday was no different. The Wyverns 5th goal (2nd Period) came on the 1st PP opportunity of the game with a pretty tic tac-toe goal by Alex Oliviera ’25 (Assist Colton Bishoff ’26 & Ryan Munz ’26). Kai Sranton ’28 would then get his third goal of the game (Assists Colton Bishoff ’26 & Krish Patel ’26) to bring the game to 6-1 and the Hamden Hall bench requiring a Timeout to refocus their team. KO Would get one more goial at the end of the 2nd period on the 2nd PP opportunity when Dalton Smith ’26 and Krish Patel ’26 would connect with Colton Bishoff for the 7th goal of the game.

The 3rd period did not see any scoring, more importantly the Wyverns managed the game with good puck management, staying D side of pucks and making the Dragons have to go deep in their own zone many times to regroup. Shane Smith was a Mainstay in net for KO Saving 26 of 28 shots in the game. By far, the most complete game of the season.
