Football – Boys Varsity vs Worcester Academy – Away

Varsity Football

The Kingswood Oxford Football team traveled up to Worcester, MA to take on the tough Worcester Academy Hilltoppers on a cool Friday evening under the lights. Offenses were the star of the night with only 1 punt between the 2 teams all evening. KO started strong, taking the ball and marching down the field for the opening score. Justin Morle ’26 ran over the safety to take in from 5 yards out. Great blocking from Zach DeWitt ’26 and Nicklas Chomko ’26 helped propel the run game all night. Stephen Bailey ’26 was sharp accounting for 282 passing yards and 4 TD. Kamden Laprise ’26 was the star WR in the first half amassing 6 rec and 1 Td. Worcester Offense was potent and relentless in the run game and pass. They scored on each of their first 4 possessions including a hail mary with seconds to go in the half to give them a 26-14 lead at the half. KO defense came out of the half hungry to even the score. Travis Parsons ’26 made a great tackle, forced a fumble and Cameron Thomas ’26 recovered, giving KO great field position. After another Worcester offensive series and the only punt of the game, KO offense marched down the field and Laprise ’26 had an acrobatic catch in the endzone to make the score 26-20. That was the closest KO would get however as Worcester got hot again and scored on their next 3 possessions. Two huge kick returns gave them prime field position to do so. KO Offense was still firing on all cylinders and alternating scoring. This half DJ Biggins ’26 took over, amassing 7 rec for 157 yards and 2 TD in the 2nd half, including a special 70 yard TD.  However the magic ran out late in the 4th down 50-34 KO was stopped on 4th down sealing the game 50-34 in favor of Worcester. Defensively Julian Przecioska ’25 was dominant amassing 14 tackles from the nose tackle position.
The Wyverns will look to bounce back next Saturday with a huge tilt against the 4-1 Berkshire Bears at home on Senior day 10/26 3:15 pm Kickoff.
