Football – Boys Varsity vs Canterbury School – Away
Varsity Football
The Kingswood Oxford Wyverns traveled to New Milford, CT to play a familiar foe, The Canterbury School on a cold November night. KO defense played well to start, stopping them on 2 straight drives. However, the Saints broke through with a 30 yard pass play to lead the game 7-0. The Wyvern offense needed a little time to heat up. The 2nd drive they were firing on all cylinders, completing multiple passes to Travis Parsons ’26 for huge chunks. Driving down the field with ease, it culminated with a Justin Morle ’26 7 yard TD run (1 of 3 on the day!). Excellent O-line play by Nicklas Chomko ’26, Julian Przecioska ’25, Teddy Ristaino ’28, Jackson Poulin ’26, and Lex Green ’26 helped propel Morle ’26 to his 4th straight 100 yard rushing game. Defensively DJ Biggins ’26 had a huge INT in the endzone to stall Canterbury. Offense then poured in two more scores, one 40 yard catch by Kamden Laprise ’26 and an excellent 5 yard run by Cameron Thomas ’26 to lead Canterbury 21-14 at the half. The 2nd half was back and forth scoring with KO unable to pull away. Leading 34-28 with 2 minutes to go KO did not convert a key 4th down and gave Canterbury the ball at midfield. After a huge pass play the defense dug in forcing back to back negative plays. Canterbury down to 4th and 15 completed a 12 yard screen pass coming up just short. KO was able to go victory formation celebrating a 34-28 victory and the 6th win of the year! The Wyverns now await playoffs and their bowl game.
