Field Hockey – Girls Varsity vs Frederick Gunn School – Home

KOFH came ready to play with their heart and hustle on the field at home vs Gunn on a beautiful fall afternoon. KOFH motivated and hungry for a goal took the ball down the field to start the game with my close attempts. Unfortunately after a strong defensive battle FGS was able to get the ball past us at the end of the first quarter leaving it 1-0 at the quarter. Gunn would go on to score three more times in the second leaving it 4-0 at the half. KOFH hungry and not giving up found their footing and held Gunn scoreless the rest of the game with a truly remarkable showing by goalie Stella Zimmer ‘25 with 24 saves refusing to let anything past her. Ella Wilson and Sierra Wells had some phenomenal breakaways for KO leading us down the field trying to capitalize on opportunities. Kate Dempsey – Weiner displayed her exceptional stick skills never backing down along with a strong defensive performance by Alexa Wolf putting a stop to Gunn’s advances. It was a game filled with hustle and we will use this momentum to carry us into our next game on Wednesday! Go Wyverns!!
