Field Hockey – Girls MS vs Renbrook School – Away
MS Field Hockey
Kingswood Oxford Middle School Field Hockey took on the Renbrook Hawks for a second time in one week’s time.
This time on Renbrook’s home grass. The opponents came out on fire and ready to score which put KO on their heels. After settling in, KO maintained possession into the circle where Hadley Crowther ’25 dribbled in and dished to Jordan DiMauro ’23 for the 1-0 lead. Renbrook answered back on a fast break to tie the score at 1-1. Before the first half ended DiMauro collected a pass from Olivia Gordon ’24 to make a quick shot on goal, which shocked their defense and ultimately went into the cage for the 2-1 lead. The second half had momentum shifts back and forth for the Wyverns. We were handed 2 yellow cards and were forced to play down a player for 4 minutes in total. Renbrook took advantage of the last minute “man up” and scored on a fast break to tie the game with 3 minutes to play. Wyverns had many chances to increase their lead but could not get it past the Renbrook goalie this week. Chelsea O’Donnell ’24 played incredible defense during the game. Macey Kotowitz ’25 was a strong midfielder and defender for much of the game. Lia Arnold ’25, Meghan Jo ’25 and Crowther had several nice breakaways and passing sequences. Up next is our last home game of the season, West Hartford Youth Field Hockey on KO’s turf on October 27th at 10:30am, also the game we recognize our 5 Form 2 players, Alex Arnold ’23, Caitlin Dale ’23, Zora de Rham ’23, Jordan DiMauro ’23, and Allegra Kotowitz ’23.
