Basketball – Girls MS B vs Sedgwick Middle School – Away
MS B Girls Basketball
What a last game of the 2024- 2025 season! Traveling down Boulevard to Sedgewick Middle School for a first time match-up complete with warm-up music, announcers, and the National Anthem, our girls were welcomed in style. The Wyverns showcased their improved skill and court awareness while proving their grit and determination against a new, but technical team. With lots of fans watching and enjoying the fun atmosphere, our girls pushed through their nervousness to play with strong defense and good offensive cuts. The team’s hard work was rewarded with a nail-biter of a win. Matilda Garza ‘31 and Emma Hannoush ‘31 led at the point, while Giselle Brighthaupt ‘29, Sydney St. Clair ‘29, and Bertie Tostmann ‘30 held down the paint. Garza led the team with 7 points, while St. Clair added 4 and Brighaupt added two. Kate Pfadenhauer ‘31, Parker Lang ‘29, and Suri Maru ‘29 came off the bench to add energy and determination on the floor. Earlier this month, the Girls on the B team, welcomed three new players from Venezuela. Xime Risquez, Aranzza Pérez and Sami Lucena added so much to the team with their smiles, hard work, solid athleticism, and good technique. Sami Lucena scored a basket while also playing strong defense in today’s game. I want to thank the girls for a fun and winning season, but for also bringing their best self each day and openly welcoming our exchange students. Congratulations!
