Basketball – Girls MS B vs Hamden Hall Country Day School – Away

MS B Girls Basketball

In our first away game of the season, the girls came off the bus ready to play and win. And win, they did. KO dominated the boards, stepped into passes to create turnovers, and finished their fast breaks. The team gained confidence in their offense and shooting, and better understood the shifts needed for solid zone defense, making them a force to be reckoned with. Matilda Garza ‘31 led the team at the point with her excellent court sense, adding 18 points to the scoreboard. With her strong ball-handling skills, Emma Hannoush ‘31 stepped in during the second half at point, and kept the team focused and scoring. Bertie Tostsmann ‘30 added 8 points and veteran Giselle Brighthaupt ‘29 added 12 to our score proving that they were strong on the boards, but also ran the floor, finishing their fast breaks and finding the open spots on offense. Parker Lang ‘29 has shown great improvement in skill and confidence, as she also “made things happen” on the court with her strong jump shot and solid rebounding. Suri Maru ‘29 and Kate Pfadenhauser ‘31 played aggressive defense, causing many turn-overs which they turned into fast breaks and great opportunities for the team. Overall, we, as coaches are very proud of this team’s camaraderie and improvement. We look forward to seeing Sydney St. Clair ‘29 come off the injured list this week, and are enjoying our new Venezuelan teammates! Go KO!
