Basketball – Boys MS A vs Rectory School – Away

A tough match up every season proved even more so as the Wyvern’s had not had a single practice since before winter break.  A slow start and lack of energy saw the KO boys fall behind fast giving up many lay ups inside and being dominated on the rebounding front.  After a brutal start the Wyverns looked to turn the game around by changing the pace.  The KO boys put the press to great use turning the whole game around by causing lots of turn overs and getting some easy shots.

 

   The second half saw the Wyvern’s take the lead keeping the press on and shooting very well from the three point line. The lead swung back and forth with the Wyverns up by two with two minutes to go but completely out of gas. Rectory finished the game with a big run of nine unanswered points winning the game by a score of 56 to 49. Many players  had stand out performances including a New Wyvern Christian Pedro who scored 17 points for the KO squad and played with great energy.  Strong contributions were made by Devin Wolff and Chris Hudson with there work on offense and execution of the game plan.  The Stand out performance of the game was that of eighth grader Dylan Swift who played his best game as a Wyvern scoring 19 points of which six were three pointers, and most importantly had zero turn overs from the point guard position .
