Basketball – Boys JV vs Hopkins School – Home

JV Boys Basketball

KO JV Boys took home its first victory (64-58) of the season hosting Hopkins at home. With plenty of talent on the court and a fair amount of work to be done, this game sets a strong stage for next week’s game against Cheshire Academy. Within seconds of the tip, freshman Carl Parkhouse ‘28 drained his first 3 of the night; he would go on to sink four total and achieve a 100% free throw percentage. Junior Lucas Wells ‘26 had an outstanding game in his debut as a starter, and while his layups landed most of the time he impressively commanded the defense with size and strength. “Player of the game” goes to last year’s JV captain Ben LaFreniere ‘25, who dominated the short game and made a whopping 8 layups over two halves. At halftime, the score was 33-21 and the team was feel strong. However, minutes into the second half Hopkins rallied, closed the gap, and with two minutes remaining the score was 60-58. Parkhouse stretched that gap with two free throws and LaFreniere bounced back from a foul to seal the deal with a quick recovery (in a 4 on 1 no less!). The game ended at 64-58 with a “W” for the Wyverns. Here we go KO, let’s keep this momentum going!
