On Friday May 18th, the Middle School Baseball team won its final game of the season 7 – 2 over Renbrook.
Dylan Achatz ‘22 got the start and went 6 strong innings for the Wyverns. He struck out 6, fielded his position well, and was supported by a defense that turned a pair of double plays. Aidan Bradley ‘22 pitched the 7th to close out the game. Brady Nichols ‘23 continued his strong play behind the plate. He blocked everything, pounced on a short ground ball to throw a batter out at first, and fired a strike to Jack Gold ‘23 to catch a runner stealing and end a Renbrook rally. Sam Bromberg ‘23, Rayyan Haider ‘24, Jacob Joseph ‘23, and Elijah Wells ‘24 were solid in the field while Devin Wolff ‘23 showed off his versatility at first, third, and shortstop. Offensively, the Wyverns got contributions throughout the lineup. Bradley (3 hits, 3 runs), Nichols (2 hits, 1 run, 1 RBI, 1 sacrifice), Michael Culligan ‘22 (1 hit, 1 run, 2 RBIs), Wolff(2 hits, 1 run, 2 RBIs), Achatz (1 hit, 1 RBI), Teddy Schwartz ‘22 (3 hits, 1 RBI), Cole Banning ‘24 (2 hits), and Jack Decker ‘24 (1 run) led the way while Preston Seaver ‘23 crushed the ball in his 2 at bats. Finally, Chase Gibson ‘22 coached first base and was an all around leader as he continued to work back from injury. It was a total team effort for Kingswood Oxford.
