Instructor: Joe Sobowicz

Joe Sobowicz is a native of Farmington, Connecticut, where he started playing volleyball his senior year at Farmington High School where he was an outside hitter and a state championship runner up in 2009-10. Sobowicz went to Springfield College where he graduated with a degree in physical education and health, teaching for about 10 years. Sobowicz is in his 11th year coaching volleyball. Starting at Farmington High School,  transitioning over to Canton High School, and this past summer, Sobowicz took over as the head girls volleyball coach at Kingswood Oxford where he is looking to establish themselves as one of the best programs in New England. Sobowicz also coaches for a local club team called Bristol Crush, as well as trains individual players on the side.

Sobowicz has coached:

9 All-State players

17 All-Conference players

1 All-New England Player

“It’s a volleyball family! I keep in touch with a lot of my former players, as a lot of them come back to visit! My coaching philosophy is simple. I want to work harder than every team, have more fun than every team, and be more connected than every team. I want everyone to envy our standard, how we play, and the love we have for the game and each other. My goal is to create great relationships with my players and help my athletes achieve all their goals and ambitions by believing in themselves on and off the court.” – Coach Sobowicz
