Spring Tap Dance

program Description:

Each class will include a thorough dance focused warm up, across the floor technique, and choreography. Over the eight sessions, dancers will be able to beginner/intermediate TAP dancing. The classroom climate is inviting, fun and encourages all students to further their dance technique regardless of their level of experience. Students will receive both individual instruction and will work collaboratively with their peers to further their learning. Students will need to have tap shoes for all classes. 

 

The class will run from 6:15-7:15 pm each Monday and dancers are asked to arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to the start time. You may wait in the dance studio lobby where you can stretch, put on proper foot attire, etc.

meet your instructor: kyle reynolds 

 

Kyle is an award-winning director who joined Kingswood Oxford in 2018 amid an accomplished career in theater education and directing. In addition to teaching theater, dance, musical theater and advanced public speaking curriculum, Kyle leads the Theater and Dance department (Fall Play, Choreographer Showcase, Winter Musical, Spring Cabaret) and serves as the Performing Arts Chair for the department. Under Kyle’s instruction, his students have achieved successful careers in both Broadway and off-Broadway productions as well as national tours. At the college level, Kyle’s students have also gained acceptance to elite musical theater universities: The University of Michigan, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, New York University Tisch, Baldwin Wallace, Shenandoah University, AMDA, and Ithaca College to name a few.  Kyle’s priority is to build theater, dance, musical theater and overall artistic opportunities for students at Kingswood Oxford.
