Squash Teams Perform Well at Nationals

Congratulations to Varsity Boys’ Squash on finishing third place in Division VI this past weekend at the US High School Squash Championships in Philadelphia.  The team defeated Canisius (4-3) in the quarterfinals before losing to the eventual champion, Brookline, in the semifinals (3-4).  They wrapped up on Sunday with another 4-3 win over Friends Central. Cole Keegan ’27 finished the weekend undefeated and winning 9-0. The Kingswood Oxford School in West Hartford sent squash teams to the Nationals.

 

The Varsity Girls’ Squash team placed 12th in Division V  The team lost 2-5 in the first round against McDonogh before defeating Brookline 4-3.  A pair of losses to John Burroughs (3-4) and Canterbury (2-4) wrapped up the tournament.  Sophia Lazor ’27 and Annabelle Jacobs ’23 both finished the tournament 3-1, while Ilianna Brett ’24 finished with an impressive 4-0 record, taking 12 of 15 matches.
